Lulu is a beautiful structured bag with a long shoulder strap and gold tone details. I love all things retro and this bag definitely has a glamorous retro appeal to it. Yes, retro from the 1960’s since this bag was named after the cartoon character “La Vilaine Lulu” created by Yves Saint Laurent around that time.

When I got this bag I didn’t know about the inspiration behind its name until I read about the naughty cartoon character a few months ago in a translation of Vanity Fair’s  french edition. The controversial adventures of scandalous Lulu are illustrated in a humorous context by the sketch creations of Yves Saint Laurent providing an insight to his imagination and mental world.
